Shaykh Safwat is a graduate of the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Egypt, the author of several books and is currently the Rome-based editor of Rayat-Aliz, a leading Sufi monthly magazine. His talk will be followed by a traditional choral performance from acclaimed Sufi singers extolling the remembrance of and the praising Almighty God. This final part of the programme will be a highlight for all those who recognise and appreciate the importance of sacred music within Islamic spirituality.
